Nathan produced a solid final round of 70 in blustery conditions at the World Golf Championship event in Akron bringing to an end a week where he has finished 64th in his first time at the Bridgestone Invitational.
It was a real mixture of a week, a good day of ball striking on Thursday foiled by a bad day on the greens although in rounds two and three Nathan really struggled with his ball striking. Today he made a good start with two early birdies but was unable to make any further progress.
Nathan is now on his way to Minnesota where he tees it up at the PGA Championship at Hazeltine National. Nathan has made the cut in his two previous starts at the PGA Championship and will this week look to better his best of 23rd two years ago at Southern Hills.
Although Nathan did not birdie the nominated Kodak Challenge hole this week, par five 16th, he is still well placed in the race for the US1 million dollars available at the completion of 30 selected holes later this season. No hole is selected for this coming week's PGA Championship the next being at the Wyndham Championship.
