nathan-rd-1-pgaNathan plays the first of the Fed Ex Cup finals this week in New Jersey at the Liberty National Golf Club on the entrance to New York harbour.

Nathan finished the qualifying events in 41st position on the Fed Ex Cup points table. This week's event has 124 players in the field with the Fed Ex Cup field to be reduced to the top 100 at the completion of this week's event. They will then play next week's Deutsche Bank Championship in Boston, at the completion of which the remaining 70 advance to the BMW Championship in Chicago and finally the top 30 to the Tour Championship.

"The course is not bad," said Nathan on the eve of the event. "It has some great views some really good holes, severely contoured greens, and it is pretty long with tight fairways thick rough and a fair bit of water."

"It's going to be very tough if the wind blows. I think they will use a few forward  tees. I hit 3 or 5 wood into 4 par fours but wind was pretty strong today."

Nathan spent last week back in Dallas where he took a few days of before playing on Thursday then attending a dinner that Craig Ranch (where he lives) put on for him to celebrate his Canadian Open win.

"Other than playing on Thursday, I hit a few balls on Sunday but kept it to a minimum in order to have a good break."
