Nathan has finished in a share of 54th at the AT&T National event in Maryland, a final round of 77 costing him any chance of a reasonable week.
It was a real mixture in terms of his form this week. After only just making the cut on Friday, Nathan birdied his final three holes on Saturday to give himself a chance of a top 20 finish or better. After a lengthy birdie putt on the opening hole on day four, the trouble started at the demanding par four 6th where he found the water with his second and took double bogey. A birdie at the 9th and he turned in even par for the day but at the downhill par three 10th he missed the green right and somehow managed to take quadruple bogey 7 without finding the water.
Three bogies followed in quick succession and he eventually finished with 77.
Nathan is entered for next week's John Deere Classic in Silvis in Illinois where he has played twice previously, missing the cut on both occasions but showing enough in his two visits to have confidence in his chances next week.
