Nathan has begun the Reno Taho Open with an opening round of 1 over 73, a double bogey late in his round not helping his cause.

Nathan was doing well enough through 16 holes of his round before a tee shot into trouble right cost him a penalty shot and forced him to lay up a long way short of the green with his third. From there he took three further shots to geen down. 

Nathan is in 50th place but will have an early tee time on day two to assist his cause in intially making the cut and then further progress in the tournament.
