Nathan has finished strongly at the Turning Stone Resort Championship in Vernon, New York, a final round of 69 a signficiant improvement on a round that at one stage appeared as if it would get away on him. He finished in a share of 58th. A battle over his closing nine holes on Saturday, put paid to any chances he might have had of a good week and when he struggled through the early stages of his final round it did not appear if it was going to get a lot better. Through eleven holes on day four, Nathan was one over for the day but put together a strong finish over the closing holes starting when he eagled the 12th after a stunning approach to the par five 12th from 240 yards. It finished 7 feet from the hole which he converted and he followed that up at the very next when his approach finished 5 feet away. Despite finding a fairway bunker from the tee at the par five final hole he was able to add one further birdie and finished the round and the week in better spirits Nathan will now have a week off before returning for the Wyndham Championship in Greensboro. He misses out on a start at the PGA this week.
