Nathan has bowed out of the John Deere Classic after a second round of 74 on a low scoring day cost him any chance of being around for the 36 holes on Sunday.
Nathan started the tournament slowly on Thursday when he made the turn in 37 but gave himself a chance of making the final 36 holes when he produced a final nine of 33 for a round of one under 70. That nine inlcuded an eagle at the par four when he holed his approach from 150 yards.
After a delay of 24 hours for weather Nathan headed out in his second round needing something special if he was to be around for the likely low cut which became necessary to accomodate the 36 holes on Sunday.
A fine second shot to the par five 2nd set up an easy two putt birdie but he was unable to convert the few opportunities he created from that point on and added salt to the wound with a double bogey at the last after finding the water.
Nathan is entered for next week's US Bank Championship in Milwaukee
