Nathan has finished 45th at the HP Byron Nelson Championship fighting back from a horrid start to his final day to finish with a round of 71.
Nathan's third round of 66 moved him into a position for a good tournament but today was a struggle from early on. The highlight of the week was a significant improvement in Nathan's putting and he heads to tomorrow's Open Championship qualifying with at least a chance to earn one of the places available at Turnberry's Open Championship.
Footnote - Nathan has missed out on a place at the Open Championship his rounds of 71 and 67 at the Gleneagles Golf Club in Dallas not good enough to earn one of the eight place available. It took a 36 hole total of 10 under to make the grade and Nathan's 4 under left him well short.
Nathan will now disappointingly be forced to miss this week's Crown Plaza event in Fort Worth having not qualified to play the limited field event. His next event is now likely to be next week's Memorial Tournament in Ohio.
