After a superb opening round of seven under par 64 at the NSW Open at the Vintage Golf Club , Nathan has struggled in the windy conditions of day two, the result a round of 76 and at 2 under he has fallen eight shots behind the lead of James Nitties.
The strong westerly winds were in early but by the time Nathan teed off they were blustering around 30km and scoring became very difficult on the Greg Norman designed layout situated in the Hunter Valley.
Nathan bogeyed two of his first three holes and never really recovered. He dropped three shots in succession early in his final nine and eventually finished with a round of four over on the par 71 layout.
Nathan finds himself eight shots from the lead but is only three shots out of second place currently held by Craig Scott.
