2007_players_hunter_martin_wireimageAs Nathan prepared for this week's Players Championship he expressed frustration at the state of his game at present more especially his putting. "I had seven three putts in the first 25 holes last week and that is never going to get the job done in terms of making cuts," he said on the eve of one of the PGA Tour's biggest events this week at the TPC Sawgrass at Ponte Vedra Beach.

"I am not enjoying it at present but am not going to get too bogged down with working too hard on it (putting). I am doing a little with it and if it works it works and if it doesn't it doesn't but have reached the point of being sick of working on it too hard."

"I played nine holes on Tuesday and nine holes today. I am actually hitting it alright but the putting is the same old rubbbish at present."

"The golf course is in reasonable shape. They had a fairly long winter this year and as a result a few of the green surrounds are a little scratchy but overall it is set up very well."

Nathan will play this week and then take next week's Texas Open off and return for the Byron Nelson in Dallas, the Crown Plaza event in Fort Worth and the Memorial and will make a decision on Memphis based on his efforts at US Open qualifying.

Nathan has played the Players Championship on four previous occasions making the cut on three of those visits with a best of 16th in 2007.
