Nathan has missed the cut at the Verizon Heritage Classic and will now take a week off at home in Dallas before playing the Quail Hollow and Players Championship events.
"I putted awfully," said Nathan referring to his opening two rounds at Harbour Town Links at Hilton Head in South Carolina.
"I will play in Charlotte (Quail Hollow) and at the Players and at this stage I am not sure what my schedule will be after that,"
After an opening round of 75 Nathan had a big job to do if he was to make the even par cut but a fast start gave him a chance at least. Two birdies in his opening three holes and the prospect of being around for the weekend was becoming a possibility. Fairway bunker and water problems over the final few holes would however ensure a weekend off.
