Nathan created many chances on day three of the US Bank Championship
but converted very few and with one round to play he is in a share
of fifth place five behind the leader Corey Pavin.
A
birdie at the second from just two feet got the round under way but over
the next ten holes he had seven opportunities from inside fifteen feet
and converted just one. Nathan's second birdie of the day finally came
at the twelfth when he made a four footer and then at the par five
fifteenth was just short in two and moved to three under for the day
and twelve under for the tournament.
Another good
opportunity presented itself at the 17th but was missed but he managed
to save par at the last after a wayward second shot to the par five.
Although
five shots out of the lead, Nathan is just three out of second place
and has a chance, with a low round tomorrow, to put pressure on those
ahead.
Nathan will play in the third last group tomorrow with Jeff Slumana and Joey Sindelar.
