Nathan is in Silvis, Illinois this week for the John Deere Classic, an event in which he has previously had some success. It's an event and a venue which Nathan enjoys.
In 2007 Nathan led after rounds two and three before eventually finishing 3rd, the D.A. Weibring designed layout clearly suiting his game. That finish came after a three week break back home in Australia. Nathan also played well early in the event last year before a poor final round.
Nathan has made eight of his last nine cuts this season but has been struggling to finish events off well. One of his best finishes of the season came three starts ago when 14th in Memphis but he needs a big week to put himself back in the running to retain his status on the PGA Tour. Nathan needs another US$500,000 or so to earn that status but this week provides a good opportunity to advance his cause in that regard.
Nathan has a 12.09 start on day one when he will tee it up with Cliff Kresge and Charlie Wi.
