Nathan rallies late to make cut at AT&T Print E-mail

After an opening round of one over par 71 on Thursday, Nathan needed a solid round today if he was to make the cut at the AT&T National event at Congressional Country Club.

By the time he reached the 13th hole however his chances appeared to have all but disappeared. At that point he was at 4 over and with the cut mark appearing as if it would fall around the 2 over mark he needed to reverse the momentum.

The inspiration came from an unlikely source. After coming up short of the green at the uphill par four 15th he holed from off the green for a birdie to get back to within one of the cutline. A magnificent approach at the par four 17th from over 200 yards to a tight pin set up one last birdie and all he then needed to do was to negotiate the potentially dangerous last to be around for the  weekend.

When he missed the fairway right his task was made a little more difficult but he found the green, two putted for par and he will play the weekend.
