nathan-day-two-coolumNathan has finished 35th at the Australian PGA Championship at Hyatt Regency Coolum, his final official event of the year. A final round of 68 was a nice way to finish off what was overall a disappointing Australian campaign in 2009 but Nathan is bouyed by the fact this was his last event before he plays the hit and giggle Jack Newton event in the Hunter Valley before two weeks break.

It was a round that could have been significantly better given that he bogeyed the par five first hole and double bogeyed the last but it was considerably better than the golf he has been putting together in recent weeks.

Nathan's first event in 2010 will be the Mercedes Championship in Hawaii in the first week of January, an event he will play for the first time. He earned a start in the season opener courtesy of his win in Canada earlier this year, the event restricted to winners of tournaments on the PGA Tour in 2009.

We will get the chance to have an audio chat with Nathan before Xmas to discuss his year.
