A late birdie by Nathan in his second round at the Valero Texas Open has assured him of weekend work at the La Cantera Country Club in San Antonio. Nathan needed one more birdie over the closing holes to move his two round total to the 1 under par score line and was able to do so when holing a 15 foot putt at the short par four 16th.

His task was then to hold on over the closing two holes and although he missed the green at the 18th he was able to get up and down by holing a five foot par saving putt.

The feature of the opening two rounds for Nathan has been some good accurate play from the tee and although he is a long way from the halfway lead he at least has the opportunity to make progress over the final two rounds.
