Nathan has survived a roller coaster ride in round two of the Cialis Western Open and has safely made the cut, his 13th in 18 starts on the USPGA Tour in 2006.
It was very much a case of birdie, bogey, birdie, bogey as Nathan, who began his round at the 10th hole, birdied the 11th, bogeyed the 12th, birdie the 13th, bogeyed the 14th and then birdied the 15th.
Making the turn in one under, Nathan made a good par save at the first (his 10th) before adding two consecutive birdies at the second and third holes with two fine iron shots to less than six feet, almost holing out at the third.
He then drpopped shots at the 6th and 7th holes finding greenside and fairway bunkers respectively. With the cut swinging between one under and even par, it was important for Nathan to finish well and he did with two pars, although he missed good opportunities at his last two holes.
At one under Nathan is in 53rd place and now with a greater knowldege of the golf course he could well improve further over the weekend.
