Nathan has opened with an even par round of 72 at the USPGA Championship although through ten holes he was at two under and very much in the thick of things.

Three bogies in his last six holes would see him finish at even par and although not what it could have been he is well enough placed.

The leader late in the afternoon is still Tiger Woods at 5 under par with Padraig Harrington just one behind. With that in mind Nathan is not too far from contention.
