Nathan has struggled to a last round of 76 on the final day of the Valero Texas Open after his third round of 66 had given him hope of a good finish. Nathan was still going well enough when he made the turn in one over par but struggled on the way home with two double bogies and a bogey to finish with his round of 76 to eventually finish 71st.

Nathan will now play this coming week's HP Byron Nelson Championship in Irving near Dallas which is therefore a home game for Nathan and where he can sleep in his own bed. Nathan's home is at Craig Ranch in McKinney about an hour's drive from the venue for this week's event at the TPC Four Seasons Resort.   

Nathan has played the Byron Nelson on three occasions and has made the cut each time without ever threatening a big finish.

It is the first of two events in the Dallas Fort Worth region with next week's Colonial one of Nathan's favourite events and layouts.
