Born and raised in the New South Wales regional city of Newcastle (two hours drive north of Sydney) Nathan’s first introduction to golf was at the age of ten via his brother Darren. Darren still plays the game and in fact is the Club Professional at the Toronto Golf Club near Newcastle where Nathan lives when in Australia.
Nathan’s first coaching was with Neville Bell at the Charlestown Golf Club.
“Neville was the one I started off with and he taught me most of the basics then
it was Peter Tutt at the Waratah Golf Club followed by some help from my brother
Darren and more recently Jason Laws at the Newcastle golf Club.”
The first golf club Nathan became a member of was the Waratah Golf Club near
Toronto on the outskirts of Newcastle and he then graduated through the amateurs
ranks until becoming a member of the New South Wales Team in the years prior to
turning professional.
